MACOA Announces T-Shirt Design Contest to Celebrate 25 Years of Student Art Excellence!

The Mineral Area Council on the Arts (MACOA) is excited to announce a special T-Shirt Design Contest in honor of the 25th Annual K-12 Student Art Show. This milestone event celebrates the creative talents of students across the Mineral Area, and we invite all K-12 students and instructors to take part in designing a commemorative t-shirt that embodies the theme: “Celebrating 25 Years of Student Artistic Excellence.”

The contest will run from now until November 4, 2024, giving aspiring young designers a chance to showcase their creativity while contributing to the legacy of this annual event. The winning design will be printed on the official t-shirt for the K-12 Student Art Show, to be unveiled in December and available for pre-order and at the K-12 Student Art Show.

Contest Guidelines:

  • Open to all K-12 students and instructors in the Mineral Area.
  • Designs must include the name “Mineral Area Council on the Arts or MACOA” and the theme “Celebrating 25 Years.”
  • Use clear colors and ensure the design is suitable for printing.
  • Submissions must be on an 8.5″ x 11″ canvas and submitted as high-resolution digital files (JPEG, PNG, or PDF) or turned in physically.

Prizes Include:

  • 1st Place: Design featured on the t-shirt, a $50 gift card, a framed certificate, and one free shirt.
  • 2nd Place: $50 gift card and a certificate.
  • 3rd Place: $25 gift card and a certificate.

All designs will be judged based on creativity, originality, relevance to the theme, and visual appeal. The winning design will be announced on November 25, 2024, and the official t-shirt unveiling will take place on December 1, 2024.

How to Enter:

  • Digital submissions: Email entries to tgallaher@mineralarea.edu with the subject line “T-Shirt Design Contest Submission.”
  • Physical submissions: Drop off entries at the MACOA office, FA 238, or mail them to ATTN: MACOA PO Box 1000, Park Hills, MO 63601 (DO NOT FOLD).

The winning designs will not only be worn proudly by the community but also sold as a fundraiser during the K-12 Student Art Show in April 2025.
