Voice Recital to Open Our 15-16 Season!

Join us Saturday, September 12 as we present a Voice Recital by Harry Cecil, baritone, with Emily Parker, piano.The performance is taking place at First Baptist Church in Farmington at 7:00 pm.

The recital will feature the solo performance of Mineral Area College’s Director of Choirs, Mr. Harry Cecil, with esteemed pianist, Ms. Emily Parker, owner of The Arcadian Academy of Music and MAC staff accompanist. Formatted to follow the structure of a traditional collegiate music recital, this performance will be as educational as it is entertaining. Song selections will cover many historical periods and multiple languages, including German Lieder from Johannes Brahms and the famous “Erlkönig” by Franz Schubert. Also included in this program are two song cycles, featuring a French chanson set by Maurice Ravel. One of the highlights of the concert will be an aria written by George Frideric Handel, accompanied by string musicians from the award-winning Rosewood Ensemble of St. Louis.
